AVOZ becomes exclusive distributor of OpenAudio multi-room audio systems across Australia and New Zealand
Deal covers distribution, dealer engagement, technical support and market development for the region
Flagship HOLO-WHAS Plus offers eight streaming zones and 16-channel amplification for residential and commercial projects
AVOZ has been named the exclusive distributor of OpenAudio's multi-room audio systems across Australia and New Zealand, the companies announced on May 29, 2026. The agreement hands AVOZ responsibility for local distribution, dealer engagement, technical support and market development throughout the ANZ region. It marks an expansion of AVOZ's existing smart home and distributed audio portfolio.
Terms of the Distribution Deal
Under the arrangement, AVOZ will act as the sole channel bringing OpenAudio's product range to installers and integrators in Australia and New Zealand. That includes handling dealer relationships and providing technical support, functions typically central to how specialist audio-visual hardware reaches trade customers rather than end consumers directly.
OpenAudio has built its reputation around an open-platform streaming architecture, an approach the company says has resonated with integrators and installers working on both residential and commercial multi-room audio projects. The ANZ appointment extends that distribution footprint into a new geographic market.
"OpenAudio represents the next generation of intelligent multi-room audio. Their commitment to open-platform innovation, sound quality and system flexibility makes them an exciting addition to the AVOZ portfolio."
— Matt Walker, Director at AVOZ
Product Lineup and Technical Specifications
The centerpiece of the OpenAudio range covered by the agreement is the HOLO-WHAS Plus, an eight-zone streaming amplifier platform built for multi-room installations. It pairs 16-channel amplification with eight independent streaming zones and three local inputs, including HDMI, SPDIF and RCA connectivity.
The platform is designed to integrate with home automation systems including KNX and Home Assistant, and supports streaming services such as Spotify, Qobuz and Tidal alongside Apple AirPlay 2 and Android-based streaming environments. According to AVOZ, that open architecture sets the HOLO-WHAS Plus apart from more closed, proprietary systems by giving installers and end users greater flexibility in how components connect and interoperate.
Beyond the HOLO-WHAS Plus, OpenAudio's broader catalog includes six different 8 multi-room audio systems and a 10.4.6 home cinema amplifier, spanning projects from residential smart homes to larger commercial AV deployments. The breadth of that lineup gives AVOZ a range of price points and configurations to offer trade customers across the ANZ market.
The multi-room audio sector has increasingly split between closed, single-vendor ecosystems and open-platform systems that integrate with third-party smart home controllers, a distinction AVOZ is leaning on to position OpenAudio against established competitors in Australia and New Zealand. Whole-home audio remains a growth category within residential and commercial AV integration as builders and property developers add networked entertainment systems to new projects.
The distribution agreement gives OpenAudio a dedicated route into the Australian and New Zealand trade channel, while giving AVOZ a new open-platform line to offer integrators. Rollout to dealers across the region is expected to follow AVOZ's existing distribution and support structure.
