Wavemakers Women & Music, a global community platform for women 40 and older in music, the creative industries and entrepreneurship, has launched a weekly live series called The Remedy. Co-hosted by Wendy Colonna and Liz Deering, the program pairs candid conversation with hands-on workshops aimed at helping participants build personalized plans for career and life transitions. The first episode aired in August 2026, and new installments continue weekly through March 2027 and beyond.

Format and Early Episodes
The Remedy, subtitled Resourcing the Whole Woman One Conversation at a Time, airs live every Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Central Time. Each episode follows the same two-part structure: a 30- to 40-minute conversation followed by a 20-minute workshop in which attendees work through a specific personal or professional challenge and leave with a concrete action plan.
Recent guests have included Amy Temperley of Aging is Cool, discussing the relationship between identity, creativity and vitality later in life; Noel Balasingham of Conscious Grace Therapy, on managing conflicting emotions; Ben Ikwuagwu of Soundcheck Live, on artists building sustainable enterprises outside the spotlight; Jane Estes of Lark & Owl Booksellers, on the value of informal community gathering spaces; and Bitsy Hamilton, a transitional life coach with over 20 years of experience as an advisor, educator and coach, on approaches to building a path for ourselves in seasons of transition.
Access to the series is split by membership status. Live broadcasts are free and open to the public, while replays of past episodes are reserved for members of the Wavemakers Circle, a free-to-join tier that also offers optional paid upgrades. The organization describes itself as a community, an ecosystem and a marketplace built around women 40 and older in music, business and creative leadership.
"We believe that in a community like Wavemakers we are all one conversation away from the person who has the wisdom, expertise or experience we are looking for."

What Comes Next
More episodes are scheduled through Q3 2027. Upcoming sessions include vocal coach Merrily Garrett of Austin Vocal Coach on October 28, focused on singers and speakers connecting with an authentic voice; Laura Ramos James, described as one of Texas' most recognized women attorneys, on November 4, addressing the strain of holding multiple competing roles; and counselor Kristen Miciotto of Whole Heart Counseling on November 11, on managing the pressures of caregiving and work.
The launch lands against a backdrop of industry data on how women, and particularly older women, experience the music business. A 2024 global survey of more than 4,000 creators and professionals found that gender discrimination, ageism, pay gaps and more inequities persist for women in music industry. The same research found that women and gender expansive people are far more likely than men to experience the music industry as "generally discriminative" based on gender, with 49% of women and 41% of gender expansive individuals expressing this belief, compared to only 16% of men, and that 31% of 16-24-year-old women view the industry as generally discriminative based on gender, compared to 54% of 25-34 year olds and 42% of women 55 and older. Against that data, programming built specifically for women in their 40s and beyond addresses a gap that industry surveys have repeatedly identified rather than one invented for marketing purposes.
The Remedy adds a recurring, free format to the broader Wavemakers Women & Music platform, which already functions as a membership community and marketplace connecting artists, founders and aligned brands. With a dated speaker lineup running through summer 2027 and a workshop structure designed to repeat, the series gives the organization a steady content cadence rather than a one-off event. Whether free live attendance converts into paid Circle membership over time will be the more telling measure of the format's reach.
